Flight Options Advanced Flight Training Facility at the Sunshine Coast Airport currently operates Level D simulators offering advanced pilot training in a tailored and professional environment.

Situated in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, only an hour north of Brisbane, Flight Options Flight Training Centre is in a great location, and with experienced instructors utilising the latest technology for both theory and practical aspects along with the best in simulator technology.

Advanced Training Options

Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) Preparation Course

Flight Options provides a course of preparation for the ATPL Flight Test. The training will focus on the competencies required of a pilot-in-command of a multi-crew aircraft operation. Depending on your level of experience, the course will also cover multi-crew operations, instrument rating skills, multi-engine aircraft competencies and general piloting abilities. Once the course is completed, Flight Options will conduct the ATPL Flight Test.

The course has 2 entry levels:
– Pilots with a relevant C510 Type Rating or Flight Options MCC Certificate.
– Pilots without the relevant C510 Type Rating;

The flight test will be conducted in our C510 Mustang Level D certified full flight simulator.

WITH C510 TYPE RATING

Duration:                         4 days
Briefing / Debriefing:     10.5 hours

Simulator (FFS):               6.0 hours

Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) Course

Multi-crew cooperation (MCC) training covers units of knowledge and practical skills that are used when pilots are part of a multi-crew operation. The training is generic to conducting multi-crew operations and is not specific to a type of aircraft.

MCC training is integral to obtaining a multi-crew pilot licence (MPL) and an ATPL. Holders of a private pilot licence (PPL) or commercial pilot licence (CPL) also need to complete MCC training to be authorised to conduct a multi-crew operation

Briefing / Debriefing:          5.0 hours
Simulator (FFS):                  20.0 hours

All SIM training will be conducted in our Cessna Citation Mustang full motion level D simulator as well and our Cessna Citation Mustang flight training device.

Cessna Citation Mustang Pilot Training

King Air 350i Pilot Training

Flight Options are now providing the following training on the King Air 350i Simulator

  • King Air 350i Type Rating Training
  • King Air 350i Recurrent Training

The initial Type Rating provides the training necessary for a Pilot in Command Type Rating on the King Air 350i.

This course provides candidates with the skills to operate either as single pilot or multi-crew depending upon the candidate’s skill level. In addition, the candidate will acquire an in depth understanding of aircraft systems, flight planning, weight and balance, and performance for the King Air 350i.

King Air B200/ 350i Differences Training

This syllabus comprises of the Aircraft Technical Course, familiarisation training and a Proficiency Check in the full motion Level D simulator.

Upon completion of the B200/350i Differences course, the candidate will have the necessary knowledge and skills to demonstrate that they are competent in the operation of the other aircraft type or class.

In addition to receiving their type/class rating, completion of this course will satisfy the requirements for an IPC, ME(A) IR renewal and recency requirements.

 

Course Components:

Ground school – 5 days (35 hours)

Simulator training – 2 days (Static trainer 2 hrs plus FFS 4 hrs)
