Commercial Pilot Licence A Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) allows you to act as a pilot in command of an aircraft in various commercial operations. To hold a CPL you must: •Be at least 18 years of age •Speak, read and understand English at a minimum of aviation level 4 English language proficiency •Hold or be eligible for a flight radiotelephone licence •Meet the training requirements and possess the minimum aeronautical experience •Pass the 7 CPL written examinations set by CASA •Pass a Class 1 medical exam with a designated aviation medical examiner and a designated aviation ophthalmologist Flight Options Commercial Pilot Licence course Instructors Flight Options only employs highly experienced aviation leaders who specialize in Flight Instruction. Course Duration The Commercial Pilot Licence course can be completed on a full time basis in approximately 42 weeks. This time frame is dependent on variables, such as weather conditions and client aptitude. Aircraft used for training Flight Options operate the following aircraft for the CPL course: • Cessna 162 Skycatcher • Cessna 182 Skylane Other aircraft that are available on request include: •Cessna 172 Skyhawk Location of this pilot course Flight Options CPL courses are conducted at our Sunshine Coast based Flight Training Centre, located on the Sunshine Coast Airport, QLD, Australia. Course Components The CPL approved course consists of two main components: Flying and Theory. Flying In order to gain a CPL with Flight Options you will need to complete the following: •84 hours dual flying •70 hours solo flying •17 hours in a simulator *Flight Options also offers the CPL 200 hour qualification, for this course the minimum flying hours are increased as per CASA requirements. Theoretical Knowledge Flight Options offers comprehensive structured lectures for BAK / PPL / CPL theory as part of the CPL course. •Prior to flying solo a Pre-Solo theory examination and a Flight Radio theory examination must be passed. •Prior to flying solo in the designated training area an Area Solo theory examination must be passed. •Prior to the GFPT a Basic Aeronautical Knowledge (BAK) examination must be passed. •Prior to the PPL flight test a PPL cyber exam must be passed. •Prior to the CPL flight test a pass in the 7 CPL cyber exams must be passed.
