Learn to Fly
Trial Instructional Flight
A Trial Instructional Flight is a great way to discover flying, and warning, it is addictive once you experience the feeling of piloting an aircraft.
You will begin with a tour of the Flight Options Training Centre, including the simulators and aircraft. You will then be given a briefing by one of our experienced instructors on the aircraft and details about what to expect. The aircraft you will be utilising is a Cessna 172 Skyhawk, the world’s most popular aircraft.
It’s now time to sit in the pilot’s seat and start the engine. You will have the rudder controls on take-off and once airborne your instructor will guide you as they hand over the flying to you. Overall, you will be flying for about 90% of the flight which takes at least 30 minutes.
Take in the beautiful scenery as you head to your destination of Noosa Heads. Once in the training area you will climb to 1,500 ft, undertake several turns, the instructor will show you what the aircraft can do and explain the primary controls. It’s then time to head back to base and end the flight with the instructor assisting you to land the aircraft.
There are no special requirements for the flight, just make sure you bring your camera to capture the moment.
Trial Instructional Flights are best conducted in the morning while the weather is perfect and clear. Flights can be booked on weekdays or weekends.
Gift vouchers are also available.
